Links to Some of Our Friends :

Seagate Evangelical Church is also enthusiastic about world mission so we give financialy and some of our members participate in summer missions.

Here are links to some of the organisations which have a special place in the hearts of our members.

Lucho & Lorna Velez and the Bolivian Community Project (BCP) :
Lucho and Lorna have been our missionary partners for sixteen years. They set up the Bolivian Community Project which provides care and education for children in Trinidad-Beni, Bolivia. Issues have arisen between Lucho Velez and La Palmera's supporting missionary organisations in the UK which has led to Lucho's reported resignation from the La Palmera project. Lucho, along with Lorna, remain Seagate's commended missionary partners and the Seagate leadership are continuing to support the couple pastorally and will seek further clarification on the situation.

Scripture Union Scotland (SU) :
Some of our members are actively involved with SU. Ali Mutch, our youth worker, leads SU groups in three local schools and several of our young people have recently enjoyed SU camps.

Tearfund :
Seagate has been grateful for the services of Tearfund as a channel to allow the church to contribute meaningfully to disaster relief and internation crisis appeals. One of our former members is on the staff of Tearfund. http://www.tearfund.org/

The Smiles Foundation :
Over the last couple of years "Smiles has become a well known name in the area as members of Seagate have been involved in fund-raising for the organisation. This has included concerts by "Nia", "Fiona Neilly" and "Last Man Out", car washes, bag packing in Morrisons and Smiles has been one of the featured charities at Marr College this year.
In addition 6 of our members are doing missions with Smiles this year and one of our members is on the board.

Troon Churches Together (TCT) :
As we represent God in Troon we join with other christian churches in our town through Troon Churches Together. This has resulted in various joint activities especially the youth outreach "Junior Golf Plus" in 2004 and the clubs which have continued since then.
